Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Translate Culture Ltd handles personal data when you use translateculture.co, book a call with us, buy one of our services or work with us as a client. Our market check tool has its own policy, which you can read at market.translateculture.co/privacy.
Who we are
Translate Culture Ltd, at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, England, is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about this policy or your data go to natalie@translateculture.co.
What we collect
- When you book a call: your name, email, the time you choose and any answers you give in the booking form.
- When you email us or send an enquiry: your name, email, company and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you buy an audit or other service: your name, email and billing details. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- When you become a client: work contact details and the business information we need to deliver the work, such as access to your ad accounts.
- Basic technical data that any website receives when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type. This is held by our hosting provider for security and is not used to identify you.
- Your cookie choice, plus Meta pixel data if you accept it.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- Replying to you, running calls and delivering services: necessary to provide what you asked for, or to perform our contract with you.
- Following up after a call or enquiry: our legitimate interest in marketing a business service to businesses, balanced against your interest in hearing about it. You can opt out at any time.
- Keeping invoices and financial records: to meet our legal obligations.
- Measuring and building audiences for our adverts through Meta's pixel: only with your consent.
Cookies
This site uses Meta's pixel to measure our adverts and build audiences for them. The pixel only loads if you press Accept on our cookie banner. Until then, it is not loaded at all.
- tc_consent (Translate Culture, strictly necessary): remembers your cookie choice so the banner is not shown on every page. Lasts 6 months.
- _fbp (Meta, advertising): set only if you accept. Meta keeps it for 90 days.
- _fbc (Meta, advertising): set only if you accept, and only if you arrived by clicking one of our Facebook or Instagram adverts. Lasts 90 days.
Our booking calendar is provided by Google and loads inside the page, so Google may set its own cookies when it loads, under Google's privacy policy. The site also loads a small script from GitHub to power its scrolling effect, which means GitHub receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads.
The Meta pixel
If you accept, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd receives the pages you visit on this site, your browser and device details, your IP address, the _fbp and _fbc cookies, and events such as booking a call. It never receives your name or email from us.
We use the pixel to measure our adverts and build audiences for them, on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings. The pixel then stops immediately, but data Meta has already received cannot be recalled.
For collecting this data on our site and sending it to Meta, we and Meta are joint controllers. Meta is responsible for what it does afterwards, under its own privacy policy, and may transfer data outside the UK.
Who else sees it
- Google Calendar and Google Workspace: our booking and email systems. They receive your booking details and any emails between us.
- Notion: our CRM. It holds enquiries and client records.
- Stripe: processes card payments.
- Webflow: hosts this website.
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd: only if you accept cookies. Receives the pixel data described above, never your name or email.
These providers act as processors, holding data only on our instructions. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and booking details are kept for 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. Invoices and financial records are kept for six years, as UK law requires. We can delete other data sooner if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Email natalie@translateculture.co and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
